breakfast: granola with almonds; peach soy yogurt; coffee
lunch: pecan multigrain bread with “cranberry and stuffing” flavor tofurky slices (I liked this flavor a lot), avocado, and vegan sour cream; pickle; raw collards chopped small and tossed in Bragg’s liquid aminos, olive oil, nutritional yeast, and sunflower seeds
snacks from Babycakes NYC (Sticky Fingers’s archenemy): half of… chocolate/coconut Mounds-like bar; gluten-free chocolate-glazed donut; spelt graham cupcake with caramel frosting; gluten-free chocolate chip cookie sandwich (two cookies with pink frosting, maybe strawberry, in between). Everything was delicious.
dinner from Vinnie’s Pizzeria: half of the following pizza slices, all with soy cheese… pineapple “ham”, teriyaki broccoli “chicken”, and macaroni

i’ve been baking some stuff from the babycakes nyc cookbook- i want to go there! that soy cheese looks like it was dripped on with a paintbrush.

yeah… not totally melted. but still very good…
is the cookbook all gluten-free? Everything in the storefront seemed to be.

everything in the cookbook is wheat-free, and either uses gluten-free baking mix (haven’t tried any of those yet but i would probably substitute regular unbleached wheat flour because my only experience with gluten-free baking mix turned out gelatinous) OR spelt flour (which is safe for those allergic to wheat, but not those allergic to gluten). i really like baking with spelt flour, it has a subtly different, hearty flavor, really good for non-delicate stuff like muffins or pizza crust.

how does their pizza compare to Duccini’s? Duccini’s was the most convincing vegan pizza I have ever had. It is the only pizza that reminds me of real cheese pizza.

Not as good as tasting like real jumbo slice cheese pizza. But really good fancy-topping pizza (great because the combination of toppings is so great, not just the cheese). i think they use mai wah fake meat; that plus soy cheese plus vegetables plus other sauces like BBQ and hot sauce make for a great pizza.
